New Commodity Risk Management Vendor Sponsors CTRM Conference
In a number of articles recently, ComTech has talked about new E/CTRM vendors coming to our attention – 3-4 this year so far. One to to do so recently is a company called Commodity Services & Solutions based in the Netherlands, Malta and USA. Founded initially as a consultancy specializing in commodity risk management, CSS was established in 2010. However, it already offers the M2M software suite through its M2M International entity and it has three customers currently using it. The commodity risk management suite can be delivered in the cloud or on premises and may sit over a heterogeneous environment of E/CTRM, ERP and other software solutions to provide a comprehensive view of risk.
According to CSS, “M2M is a solution for the Commodity Market that delivers full Management Information on both an aggregated and detailed level without the need for a time-consuming and lengthy implementation of a unified enterprise ERP-, CTRM-, or bespoke transactional system. It converts transaction data from underlying departmental systems into meaningful Management Information. M2M delivers full insight in positions and market value, forward gross margin development, Value at Risk, Counter-party exposure and Drawn-down on a daily basis. M2M capitalizes on your existing IT platforms and captures data from any data source, like SAP, Oracle/JD Edwards, CTRM-systems, CXL, MS Dynamics, Excel and enrich those data applying business logic. Through its unique architecture a typical implementation of Risk Management will take 3-6 months elapsed time with minimal intervention from IT-staff needed.”
Interestingly, CSS (M2M) is also a sponsor of the CTRM Conference on October 2nd at the Pullman London St. Pancras. Here, we certainly hope to catch up with their delegates to learn more about the company and the solution. What we learned on the phone already is that while the company’s initial focus is on grains and biofuels where it has considerable expertise, it believes that M2M will cater for all commodities.
