Enuit Targets Environmental Commodities
Enuit is busy readying Entrade 7 and, as we wrote in a previous article, it is investing its future in a new technology platform while preserving the depth of functionality it has in the solution.
This last week, I spoke with Seenu Kaliamurthy, Enuit’s Managing Director of Power Solutions, about its efforts in the power and environmental commodity side of the business. Enuit is looking at power markets and sees a lot of large players that have major deficiencies in their ETRM solutions, he told me. These companies are looking for solutions but many have not yet pulled the trigger on any deal. Seenu sees the market as active, but he also has his eye on the environmental market where he sees a lot of changes, challenges, and buyers looking to fill a gap in their systems.
“It’s a very active market and goes beyond traditional energy players. We think we have a very good product to sell here.”
Despite having a good product to sell, the environmental side is also an area of focus for Enuit in Entrade 7. “Users have expectations and want to see everything simplified in a cloud-based solution with web interface, AI deployed, and so on. It is a key area for us with Entrade 7.” Enuit has already implemented environmental commodity support in the current version of Entrade, he told me, and have seen great success with the solution. It covers the entire gamut of environmental products from renewable fuels & credits to carbon and emissions.
Entrade 7 will be out later this year and already has clients ready to upgrade and implement it. Most recently, Enuit also signed a very large deal with an oil company in the Asia-Pac region for oil and carbon and, it will also be supporting an Asian client migrating to v7 in the fall. “These are two very large projects for us,” he said.
We also touched on the political landscape with a major election looming in the US and if this will change things in terms of the narrative. Whatever the outcome, Seenu still sees demand for environmental commodity solutions, albeit net zero could take a bit of a back burner. “There will still be needs and requirements for environmental commodities whatever the result and Enuit is ready with a solution to meet those needs.”
