ComTech is tracking around 90 vendors that have solutions in the ETRM and CTRM space and this number isn’t getting any smaller. Last week at E-World, we ‘discovered’ a new ETRM vendor (new to us anyway) called VisoTech. During the same week, we were contacted by a small CTRM vendor called Fendahl in the UK. In fact, in the last several months we have ‘discovered’ at least 6 vendors we were previously unaware of. In each case, the company has transitioned from a consulting role into building software that it has then productised, migrated into the E/CTRM space from another but related software category (e.g ERP) or has served a local market and is now looking to enter the broader market.
VisoTech appears to belong in the latter category having been serving Austrian markets since 2003 with its Periotheus suite of ETRM and ETRM-related applications. It had sold solutions in other German-speaking markets and is now looking beyond into the broader European market for ETRM solutions. It includes VERBUND, OMV and EconGas amongst its customers and is targeting greenfield and start up companies as well as medium and larger companies in power and gas. The solution includes portfolio management, power plant management, scheduling and balancing, sales, EPEX autotrading and ETRM functionality. Periotheus is the follow on to the company’s GASman CT that has been offered by VisoTech for many years. We have added them to the Directory.
Fendahl is a vendor that has emerged from the consulting side of the business where it specialised in building add ons around CxL from TriplePoint. From there, the company began to consider building its own suite of software and it now has two installations on its Fusion CTRM platform. The company is obviously targeting CxL customers initially and has installed for Iron Ore and Petroleum already. It has over 80 staff many in its development center in India and develops its software to be delivered in the cloud although it can install traditionally on site too if needed. The Fusion solution includes functionality in Trade Capture Management, Contract Management, Risk Management, Physical Operations Management, Market Data Management, Business Intelligence and Analytics, Back Office Operations Management and Commodity Procurement Management. It has also been added to the Directory.
Other new discoveries for ComTech added to the Directory in recent months include Commodities Engineering who have developed the Balsamo CTRM platform out of their HQ in Switzerland and InstaNext, a US-based provider of tech solutions for companies that trade, procure, produce or transform commodities. The company, in business about 3 years, has grown relatively quickly and includes in among their client roster a number of oil and gas producers, CPG’s, food service companies, and protein producers.
With so many vendors and products to chose from, buyers are well advised to do their due diligence and ComTech can uniquely help in this regard. Not only does the Directory list all of the vendors and products with a highly usable user interface and powerful search capabilities but ComTech can also perform rapid long list developments for prospective buyers that help eliminate the risk that a potential solution is missed using our knowledge and combined 60-years of experience in the industry. Please do contact us if you need some help in this regard.
