ETRM Front and Center at ETOT
Patrick and I attended ETOT in the Docklands area of London last week. The conference was well attended with a record number of delegates for a packed agenda. Quite a few ETRM vendors were also there with a presence including Eka, Gen10, Contigo, Molecule, FIS, Igloo, Pioneer and CTRMCloud.
For us, it was a tremendous networking event as we bumped into so many people that we knew and were able to catch up. Many of the presentations and roundtables also had good content. The networking continued late into the night as we cruised the Thames and dined on a five course dinner!
I moderated what turned out to be an excellent panel discussion around ETRM at ETOT largely because the panel was so forthright and active. Roland Back of OMV, Nikolaos Kapoulas of Axpo Solutions AG, Richard Williamson of Gen10 and Hugo Stappers of Pioneer and I discussed topics ranging from trends in ETRM, Cloud, Implementation, success stories and took questions from the audience. We also conducted a couple of interactive questions with the audience to discover that the vast majority still had their ETRM installed on premises with minorities being in the cloud single or multi-tenanted. Additionally, it seemed like around 24% of thereabouts would be looking to shop for a new system in the coming year or two.
Later in the afternoon, I was in action again moderating another ETRM panel at ETEM along with Hugo Stappers of Pioneer, Imran Bannister of Utilita Energy, Rich Faulkner or Tonic Energy and Kashif Javaid of Contigo. This panel also was active and forthcoming as we looked at spreadsheets versus ETRM, home grown versus commercially supplied, cloud, costs and much more for the ETEM audience.
My thanks to the panel members for really delivering in terms if excellent content and to Commodities People for organizing a great event.
